“I have to tell you that after hours of extensive dental work yesterday, I came home to no pain or discomfort. I finished my work day at home without missing a beat. Best of all, I absolutely LOVE the look and feel of my “new smile”. Dr. J. You did a slam dunk!!!! … Thank you so much.”

Crowns
When over half of a tooth is to be restored, a porcelain crown is indicated. Today’s modern dentistry can duplicate the contours, texture, and color of natural enamel. It is important to note that a crown will restore function (chewing and speech) as well as a natural appearance. Crowns can also be used to straighten and enhance your smile!
There are several options for crowns today. The twentieth century utilized porcelain and gold crowns. However, the new millennium is becoming more and more metal free.
Our practice offers the all-ceramic zirconium Procera Crown. It is the choice of restoration for the new millennium. Although more expensive, it is strong enough to restore any tooth in your mouth. Dr. Richman was one of the first dentists in Atlanta to provide the Zirconium Procera Crown for his patients. Small 3 tooth bridges may also be created with Procera.
Bonded Restorations
With the evolution of stronger, longer-lasting composite resins, we are able to offer our patients enamel-like fillings. These are used to restore small parts of a tooth or gum-line decay. We are often able to restore small chips on front teeth to enhance our patient’s smile. Our goal is to have our patient’s teeth metal-free, for a natural white appearance.
Dr. Richman utilizes a plasma arc light to cure composite resin (enamel) restorations. This revolutionary light source is 2 to 3 times stronger and quicker than standard dental curing lights!
Dental Technology of the Future….Today!
Cosmetic Contouring
Cosmetic contouring is a simple procedure of sculpting the front teeth to appear straighter, less worn, smoother, and polished. This is usually accomplished without any anesthesia and is truly painless. Cosmetic contouring is one of Dr. Richman’s favorite cosmetic procedures because of its simplicity and cost effectiveness.Lower teeth, in particular, can be contoured to appear much more pleasing to the eye as well as a highly polished feeling. In combination with composite resin bonding, contouring can turn an average smile into a perfect smile!!

Veneers
Porcelain veneers allow Dr. Richman to quickly straighten front teeth and provide an outstanding smile. Stained, discolored teeth can be restored to a beautiful color as well. A porcelain veneer only covers the front of the tooth, and is more conservative than a crown. It is bonded to the tooth with a specific composite resin.
Spaces between front teeth, crooked teeth, unproportionally shaped teeth,or multiple old fillings, are all indications for porcelain veneers.
Bridges
There are several reasons that people have missing teeth and Dr. Richman has several techniques to restore those areas to proper function and esthetics. Porcelain bridges are cemented permanently and create a natural tooth-like result.
We now offer bridges created with Procera for single tooth replacement. There is no metal and therefore no grey line.
Crooked teeth can be straightened and aligned with bridgework. Congenitally missing teeth can be replaced as well.

Esthetic: The restorations are metal-free and tooth-colored.
Ceramic: High-strength ceramics are used that are close in composition to your natural tooth structure.
For an advanced dental restorative system that allows your dentist to restore decayed teeth, place crowns, remove defective amalgam fillings, or place cosmetic veneers in just one appointment. This allows you to have the highest quality, most lifelike dental restorations in just one visit to the dentist…in, out, and on with your busy life.
The state of the art CEREC® system was developed in 1985 at the University of Zurich in Switzerland by a dentist, Dr. Werner H. Moermann, and an electrical engineer, Dr. Markus Brandistini. Today, CEREC® 3 with CEREC® 3D software is still the world’s only chair side dental CAD/CAM restorative system. At the heart of the system is the innovative technology.
The CEREC Acquisition Unit is mobile and houses a medical grade computer and the CEREC camera. Your dentist uses the camera to take a digital picture of your prepared tooth. This picture is used instead of a traditional impression. This means no impression tray and material for you to gag on. The computer and CEREC® 3D software converts the digital picture to a three dimensional virtual model of your prepped tooth. Your dentist then designs your restoration right on screen using the software while you wait (and watch!). This software can assist your dentist with designing any single tooth restoration: crowns, inlays (fillings), onlays (partial crowns), and veneers. Once your dentist has designed your restoration (usually about 5 minutes), he or she clicks a button, and the design data is communicated via a wireless radio signal to the CEREC® Milling Unit.
Implants
In the last several years dental implants have become a routine option for replacing missing teeth. Dr. Richman works with several well qualified specialists who place the actual implant. Dr. Richman will then restore the tooth with an appropriate natural looking crown.
General Dentistry
Our practice provides all aspects of general dentistry. The first visit consists of an appointment with the Hygienist and Dr. Richman. Necessary digital radiographs (x-rays) and records are taken to evaluate your soft tissue (gums) and dentition (teeth). We listen to our patients to hear your needs, concerns, and desires. We also utilize KAVO Diagnodent technology to detect hidden decay. This painless test uses a “sonar-like” wand which is directed towards suspect areas of a tooth. Diagnodent technology allows Dr. Richman to find a small problem before it becomes a bigger problem.
After evaluating your oral health history, a proper cleaning is designed for you. Dr. Richman will make any suggestions to improve your oral health and smile.
Our hygienist provides general dental and periodontal(gum) services such as soft tissue management programs, gum disease treatment, routine cleaning and check-ups, fluoride treatments (for adults and children),prescription strength fluoride toothpaste, sealants, occlusal bite guards, as well as whitening.
Dr. Richman provides endodontic treatment (root canals), posts, simple oral surgery(extractions), crowns, bridges, implant restorations, enamel fillings, veneers, Procera (all ceramic) crowns, cosmetic dentures, as well as cosmetic evaluations. He has recently added “single visit” dentistry utilizing 3D-CAD CAM technology to produce a permanent crown in one visit. No temporary crowns and no second visit!!
